The Backside showing is underlain by andesitic rock of the Lower Jurassic Unuk River Formation of the Hazelton Group. The Texas Creek Plutonic Suite comprises a group of Early Jurassic granodioritic stocks, dikes, sills and a batholith in the area.

In 2005, sampling was done by Serengeti Resources and Rimfire Minerals on the newly discovered Backside zone while investigating an airborne conductor. The zone consists of a semi-massive to massive (80 per cent) very fine-grained pyrite vein. The vein generally trends east-west with sudden jogs and ‘blowouts’ and local breccia textures. The zone was traced for about 75 metres on surface. One sample assayed 0.12 gram per tonne gold, 26 grams per tonne silver, 0.24 per cent arsenic, 0.6 per cent lead and 0.16 per cent zinc (Sample 275553, Assessment Report 28012).

Refer to Tide (MINFILE 104B 129) for details of the Tide property work history of which the Backside is part of.
